CHILDREN’S CAMP
HOSTEL FOR MOTHERS lake tekapo proposal, (Per Press Association.) TIMARU, this day. Replying to a deputation urging the establishment of a permanent children’s health camp, a holiday hostel for mothers and a recuperative hospital for returned soldiers at Lake Tekapo, the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. W. E. Parry, said he was not in favour of combining the projects in one location, but considered the proposal to establish a mothers’ holiday hostel and children’s camp a feasible one. He urged the committee to weigh the proposals carefully before submitting a definite scheme and indicated that the services of his officers would be readily available. He also promised if possible, to visit Lake Tekapo on his return from Dunedin. Last night the Minister was entertained by the Acclimatisation Society and Anglers’ Club. He leaves for Dunedin -to-day.
