POWER ECONOMY
EDUCATION PROCESS PROBLEM FOR PARENTS “The committee must be pretty weak if all it can suggest is to get on to the children,” said Mr. M. T. Trafford, when the Poverty Bay Electric-Power Board to-day dealt with a letter from the Power Boards’ Association proposing that a competition be organised among school children for suggestions as to how electricity might be saved, in view of the necessity for economy in its use. "The board should get the results it wants by asking parents to economise,” added Mr. Trafford. “They can deal with the children by proper control.”
“Application with a slipper might help,” commented Mr. W. G. Sherratt, in reference to the suggestion that children should be discouraged from wilful turning-on of lights.
The board decided to take no action in the meantime in regard to the economy campaign.
