SINKING OF U-BOAT
ONE ROUND ENOUGH SURRENDER OF CREW (Reed. Nov. 26, 9 a.m.) OTTAWA, Nov. 24. The British Admiralty has informed the Canadian Navy Minister, Mr. A. L, Macdonald, that two Canadian corvettes sank a German submarine in the North Atlantic, taking prisoner 47 members of the crew. The vessels Chambly and Moosejaw were convoying. The Chambly attacked with depth charges, forcing the U-boat to the surface. The Moosejaw opened fire, but after a single round the U-boat crew abandoned the ship, which then sank.
