MOTOR IMPRESSMENT
Circulars have been sent to owners of motor-vehicles in the Auckland district suitable for impressment in an extreme emergency by Mr. A. E. Ford, the district controller, seeking details of their vehicles to enable adequate records to be kept. Recipients arc requested to fill in the form provided and return it immediately. "The Minister of Transport, the Hon. R. Semple, wishes it to be expressly understood that there is no occasion for undue alarm.” Mr. Ford added. “It is not the intention to upset the business arrangements of any operator. Vehicles impressed would be taken over by the military authorities only in cases of extreme emergency.” ■
