NEW U.S. WARSHIPS
27 VESSELS THIS YEAR (Reed. Nov. 21, 11 p.m.) WASHINGTON, Nov. 20. The destroyer Farenholt was launched yesterday. The Secretary of the Navy, Colonel F. Knox, announced that three others would be launched on Saturday. All are five months ahead of schedule. The battleship Indiana will be launched on Friday, bringing the total launchings so far this year to three battleships, 18 destroyers and 13 submarines.
Colonel Knox said it is intended to arm merchantmen for the Pacific as well as the Atlantic routes.
