COUNTRY GOLF
WAIROA LADIES’ CLUB (Herald Correspondent.) Owing to unfavourable conditions, play by members of the Wairoa Ladies’ Golf Club was. again postponed for the Wednesday players. The Qualifying round and L.G.U. match will be played this week, the partners being the same as drawn for the Wednesday players. The second qualifying round and L.G.U. match will be played by the Saturday players. Ths draw is as follows: Miss O’Donnell find Mrs. Goldstone; Mrs. Watson and Miss McPherson: Miss Trafford and Miss Ellison; Miss Eria and Mrs. Shaw; Miss Foley and Miss Straehan; Miss Chivers and Miss Francis; Miss Dahm and Miss Svenson ; Miss Tucker and Mrs. Mulhern; Mrs. Williams and Miss Barclay; Mrs. Ward, and partner to be arranged. Any player omitted from the draw or drawn and unable to play should advise the club captain, Mrs. Glengarry. Hill Trophy.—Mrs. McKay won by default from Mrs. Goldstone. Smith Ribbons.—Mrs. McKay and Mrs. Stewart, who have held the ribbons for several weeks, were defeated by the challengers', Mrs. Glengarry and Mrs. Nolan. Teague Button.—Miss Ward once again holds the button by defeating Miss Stewart. The tea hostesses this week are Mrs. Harker and Miss Signal). WAIKOHU CLUB Results of the Waikohu Golf Club’s handicap flight for men are:—First Round.—A. Askew d. G. S. Bridge; L. Bridge d. W. Brown; G. Gregory d. T. M. Archer; W. I. Bruce d. A. Moverley. Second Round.—A. Askew d. L. Bridge; W. I. Bruce d. G. Gregory. Final.—W. I. Bruce d. A. Askew. MOTH CLUB The Motu Golf Club is having a very successful first season, there being many enthusiastic players from both Motuhora and Motu. During the week-end R. F. Jackson holed in one at the seventh green.
