HELD IN GERMANY
EMPIRE PRISONERS GREECE AND CRETE NEEDS OUTLINED (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Aug.. 16, 2 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 15. New Zealand, Australian, British and Palestinian troops taken prisoner in Greece and Crete, are in prison camps, Stalag XVIIIA and Stalag XVIIID in Germany. British and Anzac officers are held in Camp Oflag VB. In reporting this, the International Red Cross Committee states that the camps are up to the standard of prison camps in Germany. Some prisoners in Stalag XVIIID were housed in tents, but permanent buildings are now stated to be under construction. There is -no serious cause for complaint, but the men’s chief needs are food and clothing. These are being supplied as fast as possible from the reserve formed for this purpose by the International Red Cross Committee at Geneva.
