Lunch-hour Fire

The Gisborne Fire Brigade responded to a call at the Gisborne Publishing Company’s premises in Peel street during the lunch hour to-day, but the flames wet'o extinguished before much damage had been done. The fire originated in the incinerator room on the ground Moor, and when the brigade arrived in response to a telephone call at 12.30 p.m. the flames had leaped up a chute to gain the first floor. Two leads of hose were run out to cope with the blaze on the ground floor, where paper mainly was alight, while the outbreak above was extinguished without the help of the hose.
