WATER FOR SCHOOL
INTERMEDIATE SUPPLY AGREEMENT REACHED Free water up to a certain point Is to be provided to the Intermediate School, as a result of a decision by the Gisborne Borough Council last night. An application from the school committee came before the council at a previous meeting, when the finance committee was asked to report on the matter.
The committee recommended last night that a supply equalling 200 gallons per child be supplied to the school free of cost, anything in excess of that to be charged for at the rate of Is per 1000 gallons. The headmaster of the school would be asked to supply the town clerk with a certified statement of the number of scholars on the nominal roll each quarter.
