WATER FOR SHOW
BIGGER PIPE APPROVED Approval was given by the Gisborne Borough Courcil last night to a request from the Poverty Bay A. and P. Association for the installation of 3in. pipe to carry water to the showgrounds, in place of the present lin. pipe. The A. and P. Association pointed out in a letter that the existing pipe was inadequate for Show days or in the event of fire-fighting. The water would be used mainly on Show days, when the draw-off from the town would be greatly reduced, as most of the people would be at the Show. An inquiry also was submitted regarding the estimated cost of the work. Approval was given lo the request, and it was decided to supply the association with an estimate of the cost.
