BUBONIC PLAGUE
NEW CALEDONIA CASES APPEAL FOR VACCINES TREATMENT OF NATIVES (Reed. Feb. 28, 9 a.m.) SYDNEY, Feb. 27. A report from Noumea says that a few cases of bubonic plague have been reported from distant districts of New Caledonia. The districts affected have been isolated and all precautions taken. The chief quarantine officer here, referring to the outbreak of bubonic plague in New Caledonia, said that i)is department had received an tirgent ■.ir 'r request for vaccines. These would be sent to Noumea as soon as jssiole. The message revealed that the plague had occurred in a native village on the south-east coast, 130 miles from Noumea.
