CARGO REMOVED

JAPANESE FREIGHTER CONTRABAND DENIED (Reed, Oct. 23, 9 a.m.) NEW YORK, Oct. 22. A message from Hamilton, Bermuda, states that the British contraband control authorities removed 1600 tons of cargo from the Japanese freighter Durban Maru, from Lisbon. The New York office of the Nippon Yusen Kaisha Line denied that the ship carried contraband. It said the cargo consigned to England was unloaded in Lisbon because it had been decided not to permit the ship to enter dangerous waters.
