SHEEP VALUES RISE WESTFIELD AUCTION (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. A larger offering of good quality beef sold steadily at Westfield, although cow beef was slightly easier, Extra choice ox beef made 36s per 1001 b, and choice and prime 32s to 355; prime cow and lieifer beef 28s to 335, and ordinary 22s to 28s. Extra heavy prime steers made £l4 to £l4 17s fid, heavy £l2 to £l3 15s, medium £ll 5s to £l2, light £lO to £ll ss, and unfinished £6 10s to £9 10s; extra heavy prime young, cows and heifers £9 to £ll, heavy £8 to £9, medium £6 15s to £7 15s, light £5 to £6 10s, and unfinished £3 to £5. The demand slackened during the sale of the bull calf yarding, and valued dropped. Extra prime runners, however, sold well. Runners made £3 10s to £9 19s, heavy vealers £3 18s to £4 10s, medium £3 to £3 15s, light £2 10s to £2 17s, smaller £1 15s to £2 Bs, small £1 to £1 12s, bobby and rough 4s to £1 15s.

Bidding was spirited for a small sheep entry and values rose sharply. Extra heavy prime wethers made 34s to 39s 3d, heavy 31s fid to 33s Gd, medium 30s f o 31s Gd, light 28s to 29s fid, and unfinished 22s Gd to 27s Gd; extra heavy prime young and maiden ewes 28s to 30s fid, heavy 25s Gd to 27s 6d, medium 20s to 25s fid. light 17s to 19s Gd, and unfinished 6s to 16s fid. An average yarding of lambs sold freely at very firm quotations. Extra heavy prime lambs made 28s to 375, heavy 25s to 295, medium 23s to 25s Gd, light 21s to 235, and unfinished to 20s.
