NEW BANKNOTES
ISSUE IN BRITAIN POUND AND TEN SHILLINGS (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 9 a.m. RUGBY, March 27. The Bank of England announces that, in accordance with arrangements made early in 1939. a new type of £1 note and 10s note will bo issued shortly. Consequently there will be two types of notes in circulation for a time. The chief differences wilt be the new colours, the new £1 notes being blue instead of green, and the 10s notes mauve with a grey band, having the value symbols on the back in dark green.
