CANTON ISLAND HOTEL WORK NEAR COMPLETION (Reed. March 1, 9 a.m.) SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 28. Pan-American Airways Corporation announced that the California Clipper, which is en route from Honolulu to Canton Island, is transferring the personnel and transporting supplies to the construction crew who are finishing the passenger?- and pilots’ quarters in preparation for the projected New Zealand service. An air-conditioned hotel of 24 rooms is being constructed on the island.
