Subscriptions To New Government Loan
■ WELLINGTON, June 12 (P.A.).— With two weeks to go more than £12,000,000 is needed if the £20,000,000 National Development Loan is to be fully subscribed. The Prime Minister (Mr Holland) said this evening that the rate of subscription , would, have to be increased very considerably if a sound financial programme was to be achieved. s - The total subscribed to the end of last week was £7,772,810, including advance subscriptions. This represents an' increase during last week of £2,357,930. 1 ' Y “Allowing for a short working week and the fact that the second week of a lean campaign .is usually a slow period, the result is reasonably satisfactory,” said Mr Holland. “I am aware that mafiy people have decided to contribute but have not yet filled in. their applications.
