NEED FOR GREATER RECOGNITION OF MORAL VALUES

WELLINGTON, This Day (P.A.). —“There is need for greater recognition of moral values and need to combat moral apathy,” said the Mayor of Wellington, Mr W. Appleton, at a civic reception .this afternoon to the Australian members of the cast of the Moral Rearmament industrial play,” The Forgotten Factor.” He felt the visitors could do a lot of good in New Zealand. The Minister of Education, Mr R. M. Algie, said the visitors comprised a group concerned with the higher spiritual values and brought a message which they hoped to convey through the medium of dramatic art. Like their compatriots on the athletic field, the Australian visitors, he said, would give of their best. Mr M. A. Lennon, replying on behalf of the cast, said that many of them had come to New Zealand at great sacrifice because of their belief that they could work as a team to help to solve the ills of the world.
