MAN KILLED IN TRUCK ACCIDENT

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day (P.A.). —One man was killed and another suffered head injuries when a light truck left the road about 100 yards below the main gates to Victoria Park, on the Cashmere Hills, about 6 o’clock last evening. The victims were:— Killed George Frederick Halliday, .aged about 40 years, a painter, of 82 York street, Christchurch. Injured Lyall Vincent Kermeen, aged 18 years, 81 Wainui street, admitted to hospital suffering from head injuries. His condition last evening was reported as satisfactory. There were four other occupants of the truck, two of whom were uninjured. Two were treated at the Christchurch Public Hospital and sent home. The truck, which was

travelling down the hill, capsized as it left the road and turned over several times before it came to rest upside down six chains below the road. It was extensively damaged.
