TWO YOUTHS KILLED
AUCKLAND, September 25 (P.A.). Two youths were killed when a motor-cycle they were riding hit a telegraph pole on the Paeroa-Waihi main highway, about two miles from Waikino, at 4.30 o’clock yesterday afternoon. They were:— James Arnold Hofmann, aged 19, a railway employee, of Frankton » Junction, and Brian William Howes, aged 19, a railway employee, of Frankton Junction. The homes of both youths are at Katikati. Howes was the owner of the motor-cycle, but it is not known who was in charge at the time of the accident. The accident was .seen by two mpn travelling in a vehicle behind the motor-cyclists. Hofmann was killed instantly, and Howes died in the Waihi Hospital at 8.30 o’clock last evening.
