PROFESSIONAL BOUT AT BLACKBALL
The first professional boxing match to be held on the West Coast for three years is to be staged at Blackball on Saturday, October 15. The newly-formed Blackball Sports .Club has matched two middleweights, Frank Endicott (Australia) and Trevor Tonics (mid-Canterbury) for a purse of £lOO. Tonics has previously fought on the West Coast, as an amateur, having drawn with Norman Ross. He is the former amateur.light heavyweight champion of Canterbury and middle, light and light-heavyweight champion of mid-Canterbury. He will be having only his second professional fight. J . , . Endicott is regarded as a most improved boxer and in his last fight he knocked out H. Hansen.
