LATE NEWS LABOUR FEDERATION REBUKES TRANSPORT WORKERS
WELLINGTON, This Day (P.A.).— A resolution stating that “it was gravely concerned with the conduct of the Transport Workers’ Federation,” and calling upon ’all affiliates loyally .to abide by the policy of the Federation of Labour, was carried with two dissentients at today’s meeting of the national council of the New Zealand Federation of Labour. The Council’s rebuke to the Transport Federation referred to its action in the Canadian ship dispute. The council decided that, subject to endorsement by the annual conference, the Federation of Labour will affiliate with the free World Trade Union Confederation.
The Prime Minister, Mr Fraser, has been invited to address the council this afternoon.
