How Boy Thieves Beat A Police Guard
LONDON, September 21 (Rec. 11 a.m.). —The Birmingham Juvenile Court Magistrates were told today that three boys, aged nine, 12 and 15 used a “fishing line” to rifle a play-ing-field dressing-room while the police guarded its locked door. Following complaints of thefts, the police locked the door and- watched while the match was in progress. When the players returned they found that their pockets had been rifled. The boys admitted that they had climbed to the roof and “fished up” the clothing with a metal hook on a piece of string. After rifling the pockets they lowered the clothing back on to the pegs. The boys were placed on probation and ordered to pay 25s compensation each.
