Dutch Ex-soldiers For New Zealand

BATAVIA, September 21 (Rec. 11 a.m.). —About 80 Dutch ex-soldiers are expected to fly to Wellington from Batavia within the next three weeks, said Mr J. H. Flowers, of the Immigration Division of the Department of Labour, who is now in Batavia arranging a migration scheme with the Dutch authorities. Mr Flowers is accompanied by Dr Morvyn Williams, of Wellington. Dr Williams today, began a medical examinaltion of the selected migrants, all of whom have had dairy farming experience in Holland. M’r Flowers said the New Zealand Government would settle the Dutch migrants chiefly on dairy farms. “They are magnicent types,” he said. The Dutch Government would pay the air fares and charter an aircraft for the migrants, he added.
