DETENTION IMPOSED ON ARMY OFFICER
WELLINGTON, This Day (P.A.). —A sentence of 18 months’ reformative treatment was imposed on Edmund John Champion Finny, an Army officer, when he appeared for sentence before the Chief Justice, Sir Humphrey Cleary, in the Supreme Court today. Finny pleaded guilty on September 14 to two charges of stealing £425 and; £765 10s 3d from the New Zealand Government while he was commandant of .the Polish camp at Pahiatua. .
