Police Changes At Greymouth: Three Transfers
Three changes in the staffing of the Greymouth pdlice are announced. They comprise the inspector and two sergeants who have been promoted to the rank of seniorsergeant and transferred to larger centres.- -. „, .. Inspector M.. J.. Angland, who has been in charge of the Greymouth district for the past four years, has received notice of transfer to a similar position'-at-Nelson and will leave Greymouth about the • first week in October. ' ; The new inspector at Greymouth will be Sub-Inspector W. Kane, of Masterton jvho has. been promoted to to the rank of inspector. Sergeant H. O. Hansen and Sergeant B. Wootton, who have been stationed at Greymouth for the past three years, have both been promoted to the rank of senior-sergeant and transferred. Senior-sergeant Hansen will go to Palmerston North and senior-sergeant Wootton to Dunedin. The replacements for Greymouth have not yet been announced. Other police promotions (are announced in a Press Association message from Wellington, as follows: — Senior-sergeant. J. Southworth, of Auckland, has been transferred to Wellington, and promoted to subinspector. Sub-inspector J. Edwards, of Wellington, has been transferred to Masterton. . .
Senior-sergeant H. F. Coddington of Hamilton, has been transferred to Wellington. * Constable C. W. Bowley, of Island Bay, has been transferred to Wellington Central, and promoted to the rank of sergeant. Constable J. Henderson, of Wellington Central, has been promoted to the rank of sergeant.
