All Blacks Face Third Test At Durban Tomorrow
The third test match of the 1949 . tour between South Africa and New Zealand will be played at Durban tomorrow. This will be the 13th test between the two countries. Six have been played in each country. South Africa has won four and lost two in South Africa and won three, drawn one and last two in New Zealand, in the series, South Africa has scored 117 points and New Zealand 86. The match y/ill be the 21st of the All Blacks’ tour. Their record is 13 wins, five losses and two drawn games. The team has scored 213 points and had ‘ll9 scored against it. x . • The teams are:— NEW ZEALAND Full-back: R. W. H. Scott (Auckland). Three-quarters: P. Henderson (Wanganui), M. P. 'The selection committee, which comprises Messrs J. H. Parker and A. McDonald, Allen and Dalton, took a little time to choose the side, particularly following Black’s pleasing display behind the scrum against Orange Free State. Crowley replaces L. A. Grant and McHugh replaces P. Johnstone. Although McHugh is not a specialist in the back-row position, he has been among the most dashing forwards in the team and should also give added weight to the scrum. The broadcasting arrangements for the match will be the same as for the two previous tests. There will be a direct relay from 2YA Wellington commencing at 1.30 o’colck on Sunday morning.
