SOME RELIEF TO DROUGHT IN BRITAIN
LONDON, May 22 (Rec. 2 p.m.).— Although scattered heavy storms have eased one of the most serious droughts in Britain for many years, they have not come in time in sufficient volume to repair the crop damage.
Barley is the worst hit of the cereals. The .drought has also affected the vegetable and fruit crops.
