BROUGHT BICYCLE BY PLANE FOR TOUR

SYDNEY, This Day (Rec 2 p.m.).— When an Air Ceylon Skymaster, which had been delayed by Government order for several days at Darwin, arrived at Sydney from London, Kenneth Bradley, aged 27, a farmer, of Nottingham, walked off the plane, took delivery of his bicycle from the planes’ freight compartment and began pumping up the tyres for a cycling tour of Australia, Customs men blinked in surprise when he wheeled the bicycle into the baggage room and waited for them to search the several canvas bags hanging from it. Apart from these he had no luggage. Bradley cycled from London to Rome at a cost of £45, because he could not get a direct passage. After touring Australia he intends to settle in New Zealand as a dairy farmer.
