MAN CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER OF ELDER BROTHER
(P.A.) AUCKLAND, April 25. William Charles Reece, aged 25, a metal worker, was admitted to the Green Lane Hospital on Saturday night with a bullet wound in the abdomen. His brother, Robert Courtney Reece, aged 19, a tannery employee, went to the Onehunga police station after the shooting and was arrested on a charge of attempted murder. He will appear in the Magistrate’s Court tomorrow. William Reece was shot while standing in a passage in his home at Church street, Onehunga. A bullet from a pea rifle passed through his body and’ wounded his mother’s left hand. , An operation was performed, on Reece after his admission to hospital. His condition is satisfactory.
