C. R. Berkett’s brilliant three-year-old, Spring Fashion, may be expected to make amends on the second day of the Wanganui Trotting Club’s meeting tomorrow. Last week the Springfield Globe —Parisienne filly finished second in the principal event to fellow-South Islander Elmdale, and fourth in the sprint. Murray Grattan, third last week in the mam event, may be expected to improve, and Elmdale, last week’s winner, is not handicapped out of the contest on 48yds. Nearing His Best

Belmont Hall, having his first race for four months, was close up third in the race won by Wedding Ring at Forbury last Saturday. Confidently supported, it was only the final furlong that found the Dillon Hall four-year-old out, and he should be a better horse on the second day. His effort was a big improvement on his form towards the- end of last season.
