A Letter For John Smith
A letter from Trieste addressed to John Smith, .. “care of PostmasterGeneral, Auckland,” has been delivered about six weeks after, its arrival in New Zealand. The correspondent, t in an accompanying letter-to the postal authorities, said-that John Smith was in the “21st Battalion, Second N.Z.E.F., the General Freyberg Division” ■ and that they had met in Trieste 'in 1945. A check with base records soon traced John Smith. He is Mr J. B. Smith, of Kaikohe, Kiwi, 1946-47 All Black, and 1948 New Zealand Maori Rugby representative. —(P.A.)
