SECOND ROUND IN N.Z. WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP

PALMERSTON NORTH, Oct. 9

The second round of the New Zealand women’s golf championship was played this morning in drenching rain and a howling northerly gale. The rain fell until about 10.30 a.m., but a strong wind continued, and served to dry the course quickly. Miss E. Wilkinson (Grange), the New Zealand champion, maintained her form to beat Mrs R. H. Coker (Marlborough) by 4 and 3. Mrs G. W. Hollis, who has three times been New Zealand champion, is also playing jn something like her old form. Today she beat Mrs Hatrick (Miramar) by 4 and 2.
