LAWN TENNIS Australian Pair Beaten In U.S. Tournament

Frank Parker beat Ted Schroeder, 6-2, 9-7, 6-2, to win the Eastern grass courts tennis championship at South Orange, New Jersey. Parker’s tennis was considered the best of his career. He outplayed Schroeder in all departments. Talbert and Mulloy beat Long and Sidwell in the doubles final. 7-5, 6-2, 4-6. 6-3. The Australians’ defeat was a surprise, as they had won their semi-final against Parker and Schroeder in straight sets.
