Mr McLagan Meets Runanga Miners: Work Is Resumed

This was the re- [ suit of a settlement reached yesterday when the members of the Runanga State Miners’ Union were addressed at a mass meetins by the Minister of Mines (Mr McLagan). The terms of the settlement have not been announced. The Liverpool State mine, which was idle since Wednesday because of the death of Mr William Robertson, a horse driver at the mine, also resumed work this morning. Mr McLagan, who was accomnanied bv Mr A. Prendeville, a member of the Coal Council, arrived by car from Christchurch yesterday morning to attend the meeting.
