MISSION ADDRESS
“Jesus declared the necessity of conversion when He said, ‘Except a man be born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter the kingdom of God.’ ” stated the missioner MiFrank Purnell 8.A., 8.D., at the big tent in Murray street last night. Speaking on the question “What is Conversion?” he emphasised that “a converted man is a turned man, having turned from the practice of sin to right living, from the love of self to the love of God. A man’s heart (his intellect, emotions and will) is changed by faith in Jesus Christ, that faith resulting from hearing the word of God. His conduct, or way of living, is changed by repentance which logically follows real faith in Christ, and results in a reformation of life. Baptism is the Lord's appointed ordinance in which a man, already changed in heart and life, comes into a new relationship with Christ.”
The Baptist Church attended in a body and the Rev. Mr Fear assisted in the service. .
