CIRCUS LION ESCAPES
(Recd. 11 a.m.) ADELAIDE, This Day.
An escaped circus lion crept to within 100 yards of a crowd watching a fire which damaged the Methodist Church at Renmark. Some people thought the lion was an Alsatian dog until it roared. The crowd then scattered.
Circus attendants carrying whips surrounded the lion and drove it back to its circus cage.
