New Zealand Naval Officers
The Royal New Zealand Navy had 130 New Zealand officers today, said the Minister of Defence (Mr F. Jones) in the House of Representatives last evening. He doubted if there were six before the war. He hoped that some day New Zealanders would qualify for the senior positions. When they did the British rate would not be paid but one equivalent to the responsibilities as judged on New Zealand conditions.-— (P.a.)
