GOLF IKAMATUA CLUB CLOSES ITS SEASON
The Ikamatua Golf Club closed its season officially on Sunday, when in addition to local members there were visitors from various district clubs.
The president. Mr Blackie, presented trophies won during the season as follows:— Women’s senior championship, Mrs Gardyne; runner-up, Mrs August. Women’s junior championship, Mrs Truster; runner-up, Mrs O’Malley; Crawford Cup, Mrs Gardyne; runnerup, Mrs August. Green Cup, Mrs O’Malley; runner-up, Mrs. Trusler. Stableford Bogey, Mrs Blackie. Eclectic trophy, Mrs O’Malley. O’Meeghan Cup, Mrs Nolan; runner-up, Mrs Gardyne. Men’s senior championship, F. Gardyne; runner-up, .G. August. Intermediate championship, G. Broughton; runner-up, W. White. Junior championship, J. T. Fitzgerald; runner-up, N; Hampton. D.C.L. Cup, John Fitzgerald. Mirfin Cup, G. Williams. Eclectic trophy, N. Hampton. Harvey Mugs, N. Hampton and G. August. Mixed Canadian foursomes, Mrs Gardyne and J. Devereux.
During the afternoon the men’s putting competition was won. by W. White; approaching competition, R. Trusler; long drive, G. Broughton; women’s putting competition, Mrs August. The winners of the women’s match on. Saturday were Mrs Purvis (senior competition) on a count back from Mrs August and Mrs Trusler (junior competition) on a count back from Mrs Broughton.
