REEFTON RECORD OUTPUT BY DISTRICT COAL MINES IN AUGUST

(0.C.. REEFTON, This Day. Reefton district mines in month of August established a record output for the year to date with .14,164 tons. Five weeks’ totals were included in the period, the final week’s tonnage- being 3155, the best for over three" months. There was no broken time at the mines during the week. LOW RAINFALL The rainfall recorded at the Reefton School of Mines for August totalled 6.07 inches on 16 rain days, with a maximum fall of 2.04 inches on August 6. During the week-end Reefton experienced stormy weather conditions, with steady rain and a considerable drop in temperature.
