TERRORIST ATTACK ON POLICE CENTRE IN JERUSALEM
(Rec. 11.15 a.m.) JERUSALEM, August 12
Sirens sounded this evening and flares lit up the sky during rifle firing lasting half an hour. Police headquarters later stated that z the police returned the fire of terrorists attacking police headquarters from alley ways opposite the building. The Associated Press says that one mysterious rifle shot stampeded the security forces throughout the city into a half-hour’s indiscriminate shooting at shadows. The only loss was a good deal of ammunition. Reuter’s says that only one Jew was killed and two wounded when Arabs attacked a party of Jews between Tel Aviv and Haifa today. Men described as Arabs stabbed a Jew walking in one of the city’s main thoroughfares, Hassen Bey street, says an official statement. The Jew, who was seriously wounded, was taken to hospital.
