EX-SOLDIERS ’ REFERENDUM IN AUSTRALIA (Reed. 11.45 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. The Federal Congress of the Returned Soldier’s League has decided to take a referendum of all subbranches on the widening of membership. Each sub-branch will have one vote and the referendum is to be completed before May 31. The membership of the League is 400,000 and there are 2,300 subbranches The question to be answered is whether the sub-branches favour admitting to membership all men who volunteered to serve anywhere, were accepted for active service, served for not less than six months and were honorably discharged, irrespective of where they served. ,
