Attlee’s Salary: £4000 Tax Free
(Rec. 2 p.m.) LONDON) Feb. 13. Explaining that the cost-of-living increase has cut the value of Mr. Attlee's salary of £lO,OOO a year, as Prime Minister, by nearly half, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Dr. Dalton, announced in the House of Commons that £4OOO of it is to be treated as expenses, and will therefore be tax free.
