CHRISTIAN BASIS

OXFORD RALLY’S DEMAND (Recd. 2 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 5. Two thousand persons, including many undergraduates, packed Oxford Town Hall for a rally at which the Bishop of Chichester, Dr. Bell, was chairman. The rally called for a Government policy in national and international affairs more in line with Christian principles. All denominations and political parties were represented at the meeting, which declared that its aim was “to get Christian principles applied in public questions, irrespective of the consequences to any self-interest.” The eight hundred, who were unable to enter the hall, refused to depart until an overflow meeting was arranged.
