MEMBERSHIP OF BRANCH NEARLY DOUBLED The membership of the Westland branch of the New Zealand Cai pen - ters’ Union has almost doubled during the past year, according to the report presented by the retiring president, Mr. C. B. Coulson, at the annual meeting of the branch held at Greymouth last evening. This position, added the report, had been brought about, by the return from overseas 0!. many men serving with the forces. The following officers for the ensuing year were elected: President, Mr. sAp. Mills; vice-president, Mr. A. E. Jones; secretary-treasurer, Mr. J. E. Laing; executive, Messrs D. C. Hodgkinson, R. T. Hopkinson. S. Andrews, B Erikson and S. Burrows; delegates to Apprenticeship Committee, Messrs Mills, Jones and Laing. A vote of appreciation was acccorded Mr. Coulson for his services over a period of years. It was decided to affiliate with the Federation of Labour as from January next, and to make a grant of £ 10 towards the Labour Party election campaign fund.
