America and Palestine Partition Plan
(Rec. 2. p.m.) WASHINGTON, Aug. 6. The Under-Secretary of State, Mr. Dean Acheson, said the Government had not made any formal decision on the British partition plan for Palestine. The Associated Press comments that it is known, however, that the British have already been informally advised of the administration’s virtual rejection o'. the plan. It is officially announced in Jerusalem that the curfew imposed on July 22 will be lifted at 6 a.m. to-morrow. A message from Malta reports that the cruiser Ajax has left for Haifa.
