GOLF Matches Arranged for Week-end

The August Greymouth Ladies’ Golf Union medal match will be played at the Kaiata links on Saturday. The draw is as follows: — Mesdames Hooper, McKay and Miss Blair; Mesdames McCarthy, Steele and Miss Hambleton; Mesdames Robertson, Mardon and Miss McKnight; Mrs. Neville, Misses Deere and Hannan; Mesdames Murdoch, Brayshay and Miss J. Munson; Mesdames Hutchinson, Batty and Miss Moore; Mesdames Dowell, Meldrum and McKane; Mesdames Patton, Lambert and Alexander; Mesdames Brown and Logan. C. Division Match. The fourth' round of the Points Trophy competition will be played on Saturday. It will be a medal match over 13 holes. The draw is as follows: Mesdames Chibnail, Boustridge and Rea; Mesdames Hickman, Wallis and Bluett; Mesdames Ellis, Thurlow and Miss Heaphy; Mesdames J. C. Smith, Mclntosh and Miss Bond; Misses McLuskie, McGonagle and McDonnell. Ikamatua Results. At Ikamatua week-end Mrs. Gardyre won the Crhwford Cup with Mrs. August runner-up. Miss A. Fitzgerald won the Green Cup with Mrs. Trusler in second place. The .final of the stableford bogey competition will be played next week-end and there will be medal matches for both seniors and juniors. Blackmore Clip Foursome Continued Despite adverse conditions, .good cards were returned in the second round of the Greymouth Golf Club’s Blackmore Cup Mixed Foursomes on Saturday. Lindley and Mrs McCarthy and Foster and Miss Deere with scores of 76 nett were ' the leaders. With two rounds played, Lindley and Mrs McCarthy with two consistent rounds of 78 and 76 are five strokes ahead of their nearest opponents, Cox and Mrs Neville with 73 and 86, the latter pair after a brilliant first round crashed in the second, but still have a chance to be with the leaders.

On Saturday and Sunday next match play in the senior, intermediate and junior championships and the Orkney, Kaiata and Fourhorsemen Cups will be continued. The draw is in the club house and members are requested to play all available matches.

The Greymouth Club team to play Hokitika on Sunday next will be the same as was previously published.
