OBITUARY Mr. J. W. Almond

The death occurred early yesterday morning, at Greymouth, of Mr. John William Almond, of Dunollie, aged 69. Mr. Almond was born at Leadgate, Durham, England, and came to Dunollie 32 years ago. He was employed by the Railways Department for 16 years and retired 10 years ago because of ill health. He was a foundation member of the Dunollie Bowling Club. He is survived by his wife, three sons, Messrs. L. and R. Almond, Auckland, and J. Almond, Dunollie, and three daughters, Mesdames Mathieson (Runanga), C. Barrow (Dunollie), and J. Skilton (Auckland). He also leaves two brothers and a sister in England. The funeral took place at the Karoro cemetery this afternoon. The Rev. E. O. Harding conducted the services at the residence and at the graveside. Mr. John Anderson The death occurred at Greymouth vesterday afternoon of Mr. John Anderson, of Herbert street, aged 77. Mr. Anderson was born at Kirkwell, in the Orkney Islands, and was for many years a seaman. More recently he was employed on the waterfront at Greymouth. He was predeceased’ by his wife and had no relatives in New Zealand.
