(P.A.) INVERCARGILL, April 21. The Riverton Racing Club’s meeting opened in bright sunshine, but the was heavy. The totalisatoi handled £G5,976/10/-, a record for Southland, as against £51,390 last vear. Shadow Boy, the outsider of the Great Western Steeplechase field, paid a dividend of more than £125 when he won. There was the unusual feature of three dead-heats being hoisted during the day.
