Turco Wins Two Races at
Addington
(P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, April 20. A double victory by Turco, which brought his winning total for the meeting to £3085, was the feature of the racing at Addington to-day when the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club concluded its series of Easter meetings. The attendance, approached a record for an Easter meeting, and the totalisator staff handled promptly and efficiently the sum of £168.482, by far the largest sum handled at any South Island meeting at this season of the year, and comparing favourably with the record, sum of £182,086/10/- put through the machines on Cup day in November. The Easter Saturday total last year was £144,108. This brought the total for the three days up to £427,092, against £231,379 at the two-day meeting held last year, and £488,008/10/- at the Cup meeting in November. Results: —
