Unemployment in Wales “The tide of unemployment is again rising in Glamorganshire, but the Labour Government will ensure that there is this time no need for the mood of hopeless despair which, before the war, settled on South Wales workers,” said Mr Attlee, when receiving the freedom of Merthyr Tydfil. He added that the hiatus between war and peace had created conditions of temporary difficulty. The Government intended going on to win the fight against fear and want. —London, April 18.
